Atlantic Beach, NC

Atlantic Beach (6 miles from Beaufort, NC) is the oldest of five resort towns that dot the 30-mile length of Bogue Banks on North Carolina’s Crystal Coast. Bogue Banks, like only Long Island, N.Y. on the East Coast, runs east to west and faces south. Along the way, the island is posted with green mile markers (MM). Atlantic Beach is at the eastern end of Bogue Banks with historic Fort Macon State Park (MM1), many fine restaurants, rental agencies, shops, night clubs, entertainment parks and Atlantic Station shopping center.

Atlantic Beach hosts sun-and-fun sports on the main beach at its beach volleyball nets everyday. Each October, the Carolina Kite Fest colors the skies of Atlantic Beach with high-flying competition from all over the world.

Atlantic Beach hosts several annual fishing tournaments including the annual Atlantic Beach King Mackerel Tournament, the largest all-cash king mackerel contest in the nation, each September.
